nothing much has changed over the ages.

Modern mainstream western medicine takes the ‘outside’ approach. However, in recent years the “inside” approach which has always been the underlying principle behind Chinese traditional medicine has gained much ground. The increase in the popularity of the ‘Inside’ approach is no doubt due to a combination of several factors:

Known Prescription drug side effects

Dissatisfaction of traditional mainstream medicine

Increasing cases of medical ‘misadventure’. (Hospitals are places to stay away from.)

Awareness that good health is primarily a personal responsibility… not of overworked physicians. An increasing awareness that the medical industry is highly influenced by drug companies and that there are often better, safer and more economic natural alternatives to drugs.

Major Drug recalls have evidenced that many potential prescription drug side effects are not known …. and may never be

In spite of this justified ‘swing’ away from mainstream medicine and the growing importance of prescription drug side effects, mainstream medicine does have a place in everyone’s health program … part from the obvious ones in treating accident cases or chronic urgent illness.

Best Forex Courses, Trading Strategies and Robots by William Barnes
in Investment / Currency Trading (submitted 2010-07-29)

A lot of people want to find the best forex strategies and trading courses to help with their trades. One of the most cutting edge solutions is to buy a forex trading robot. A forex trading robot is a software program that works directly with the trading platform to buy, sell or hold positions. It takes human emotion out of the equations and relies on the predictive value of market trends. The robot attempts to make more positive trades than negative and therefore increase the value of the account by the end of the day.

Working solely with numerical data, the robot manages the trades from beginning to end. This may reduce the amount of time and effort the trader has to devote to his or her account on days of active trading. The program makes these decisions based on factual data it has gathered about the markets.

Human emotion is almost unquantifiable

Ouellette elected to Mexico board

0 Comments | Sun Journal; Lewiston, Me., Jun 9, 2010 | by Eileen Adams

MEXICO ? Residents elected one new selectman and retained an incumbent during Tuesday’s election.

Byron Ouellette, 62, received the highest number of votes at 379. Incumbent Reggie Arsenault received the second highest with 348.

Also running were Albert Aniel, who received 334 votes, and incumbent George Byam who took 252 votes.

This is Ouellette’s second run for a seat on the Board of Selectman. Arsenault ran for a full, three-year term. He had filled a seat vacated by former Selectman Arthur Bordeau. He had also served for several years prior to that.

Ouellette is a self-employed small businessman who deals in tires. Arsenault has served or serves on the Planning Board and several other committees.

Ouellette is also a Budget Committee member and a member of the Water Trustees Board.

Residents also passed a 15-article, $2.61 million municipal budget, and also voted to continue adoption of the budget by referendum rather than by the traditional town meeting format. No specific numbers were available for each article late Tuesday night.

The approved budget is about 6.2 percent higher than the current year’s

Napster provides a web
site that allows users to gain access to music files from other users
by downloading them for their own personal use on their computer.

When one CD is not sold, many sectors of the economy
show negative effects. At the wholesale level, the artists that write
and record the music, companies that manufacture the CDs, containers
and labels, trucking companies that move the CDs to music stores all
lose money. At the retail level the owners of the music stores and
finally their employees all lose some money when a music is
distributed outside the normal distribution method (as well as the
owners and employees of used CD stores). These losses do not include
the lost tax revenues that the Federal, State and local governments do
not receive as a result of these downloads, thereby reducing the
amount of money available for public projects.

The Internet has presented the music industry with both a problem and
a solution.

My mother buys them, and I flick

My mother buys them, and I flick through them if there are interesting pictures of Michael Jackson’s latest deformity. Case in point, I was reading “Now” just, well, now, and this is where the Big Brother connection comes in.

I’m probably the last person to know, but apparently the woman who won the last series of Big Brother was given a presenting job where she said things such as (I wish I was making this up) “Am I the only person who’s never heard of this ‘Clint Eastwood’ ?!” People who are famous, it seems, have some form of lobotomy clause in their contract. Consider Jordan. Or, indeed, Jodie Marsh. Or anyone on Top of the Pops. Or contestants from Fame Academy. The list is endless!

I don’t think I’m alone in feeling a little bitter. I, for one, and I daresay you, for another, will probably never be asked to present anything in my life. I do, however, know who Clint Eastwood is. I’ve even seen “Firefox”, and that was bloody awful.

While we’re here, I’m also never going to be on Big Brother. Not because I’m not “good” enough, but just because even I have better things to do than parade around in front of the nation in a house full of wankers.

Ingersoll Rand Reports Company Fully Indemnified for European

0 Comments | Manufacturing Close – Up, Jun 26, 2010

Ingersoll-Rand plc confirmed on June 23 that the European Commission’s announced fines for alleged anticompetitive practices conducted by certain European bathroom fixtures and fittings companies included an assessment of EUR 326 million ($400 million) against entities representing the former American Standard Companies, Inc. and certain of its former operations in Europe.

According to a release, this matter does not relate to Ingersoll Rand, its Trane commercial and residential air conditioning business, or its employees, and predates Ingersoll Rand’s June 2008 acquisition of Trane, Inc.

Trane was previously known as American Standard Companies Inc. In 2007, American Standard Companies Inc. was separated into multiple businesses, including Trane commercial and residential air conditioning; the European bathroom fixtures and fittings business, acquired by Ideal Standard International Holding SARL; and Wabco Holdings, which was spun off as a separate, publicly-traded company.

The European Commission’s fine stems from its previously disclosed investigation of alleged anticompetitive practices in the bathroom fixtures and fittings business prior to 2005. In 2007, as part of the planned corporate separation of American Standard Companies Inc., Wabco Europe BVBA, a subsidiary of Wabco Holdings, agreed to indemnify Trane against any fine related to the European Commission’s investigation of this matter

Spyware removal software is a ?must?

Spyware removal software is a ?must? for Internet privacy and security.

Spyware slips by anti-virus and firewall protection by piggybacking on seemingly legitimate downloads. These spyware files are stealthily installed on computer systems without anyone ever knowing it. Infestations often occur when people download freeware, shareware, file sharing or through email and instant messaging.

Spyware and adware are applications that intertwine with core computer functions and make manual removal, without system disruption, very difficult for most computer users. That is why it is important to have anti-spyware software installed.

A spyware scanner is a useful tool that protects computers at all times, so that people can enjoy surfing the net, without compromising privacy. Personal surfing habits, online chats and Internet activities are protected from those prying Internet eyes. Online identity theft is of great concern these days.
